I have never heard of anything so wierd. This thing was invented and marketed (unsuccessfully) by a local Chevrolet dealer here in southern Ontario, to cook your meals via the exhaust, while you drive. I cant believe it was even legal! (MY disclaimer - these are for display only DO NOT USE THEM !!!) I have 5 systems, thats it .

Finally you can have something that none of your friends have. Each has the stainless/chrome 'oven' the flex pipes to attach your exhaust, brackets, 2 pot/pan with lids, and a full color original sales advertisement showing the unit mounted on a new car in his Chevrolet dealership showroom. Price ?? I am thinking around $ 250. each. I will SWAP for stuff I like though.

The unit pictured is mine, the others have the wrap still on the oven portion and is a real bugger to get off ,(to be expected after almost 4o years though) took me over half an hour!!

Looking forward to your replies and thoughts on this strange piece of automotive memorabilia, hard to believe it was not a joke, the dealer fancied himself as quite an inventor. I purchased these direct from the Mike Hutchison Chevrolet Oldsmobile, at their dealership auction , when GM pulled the plug on their franchise a years back.

Looks like a 73-74 Nova in the showroom, but with a drill and long enough bolts I am sure it can be a universal fit(lol). Unfortunatley no ties to GM(Chevy) on the product , I think GM corporate (& their lawyers) wouldnt have liked that too much!

Yes the orig FULL COLOR ad is with it.

I know it isnt the usual type of item for a collectors forum such as this, but I thought some would get a kick out of it! I am a couple hours from Detroit, Port Huron, Buffalo ...

Ha ha that's awesome, the minds at work back then did not have safety on their minds at all. Throw in a tin of Spaghettio's and away you go..

The California Highway TV show called Chip's pulled over a guy in one episode because of smoke coming from his engine. Turned out he was cooking his dinner under the engine while driving home.

I have also seen people cook chicken in a zip lock bag in the dishwasher.
