Can someone tell me how much these visible pumps weigh? I'm trying to get a shipping quote and of course weight is a key factor. They all seem to be about the same height and diameter. A pointer to specs would be most helpful.

Having shipped many of these, we usually average around 600 lbs. mounted to a skid, laying down. I'm sure you will get a bunch of variables but this number works for us on NAVL. Paul www.severngaspumps.com

So when visible are shipped, should the globe be removed and handled separately?

Any special needed to protect the glass cylinder?

globe or cylinder? Globe should be boxed separately. If you build a skid with a saddle, to support the cylinder, just beneath the cylinder cast iron base and tie it down tightly to the skid, you should be fine? I always make a plywood box over the entire glass cylinder section and fill with packing before screwing on the lid. Shipped them to Thailand like this with no issues. Paul www.severngaspumps.com

I won't be the one doing any crating or shipping. I'll be relying on a crating and shipping company and I want to understand what needs to be done so they do it the right way.
