Just aquired this today and wondered if anyone has one of these. I'm trying to approximate age and maybe a fair value. Here's what I know-- the logo is not in the book of logo's. The closest in style is from the late 1920's. The little tube included in the kit which is orginal has a lead cap. Most lead top oilers pre-date WWII so I can draw a conclusion that this is similar. I know the logo was used by Pure Oil Co. after searching through a multitude of books I found it pitured on 1 old sign but no circa date included. My best guess is late 20's to early 30's. The paper in the inside is glued to the lid and has the same logo on the top, stating that it is Pure Oil Co. property along with a list of contents and some basic first aid situation and fixes. It can be hung from the wall or fixture and the lid swings down on a sliding hinge stopping and holding the lid in a shelf like manner. I'm clueless on value since there is nothing to compare it to in my experience. Any thoughts from the specialists and experts??.......Dave

Seems ironic that anything in a 1st aid kit would include an item within a Lead tube/cap !

Yes, from my research I would have to agree with you as to the kit comming from the early 1920's. Pure was a major retailer here in Richmond Virginia . I did a model of one of their "cottage" stations . Some of the folks at the Historical society want it now . Ed Shaver

From what I see on the 'net. The kit would have been made between 1906(when the company opened US branch in NY city) and 1947(when company moved from NY city). The first aid kits must have been good they were used by Admiral Peary on his trip to the North Pole and by Captain Amundsen on his trip to the South Pole. Very nice find, Dave.
