There's one on e-bay now,not as nice and not the same size nor style nor the same bottles, for $2500. If $2500 is a fair price for the one online (a Mobileoil collector could tell you if it is), I imagine yours with those bottles is worth more.

item # 191672871547

p.s. for the newbies, cut and paste the item number into the ebay box at the bottom of this page. This way if anyone purchases said item, a finders fee goes to support this site.

Super clean... rarely seen bottles... I could see it bringing 3000 at one of the auctions. It's super hard to find clean gargoyle, it wasn't treated well when peggy became the only mascot.

I'd search around for the other 2 bottles, a full matching set might pop the number nearer 3500.

Tall fluted Canadian imperial quarts may be somewhat scarce across the border but above the 49th parallel not so much. The biggest user of these glass bottles was the Imperial Oil Co. and they had a thousand or so stations and depots in Canada even back then. There were also a couple of other eastern brands who used the same bottle but just put on different caps. The different coloured bakelite caps used by Imperial Oil are much harder to find than the bottles, with green for Marvelube and red for Mobiloil. I wonder if US buyers would pay a premium price for a rack with Canadian bottles? Cheers, Don.

It's always fun to think about the variation in bottles. 1000 stations is not much (though it might be in Canada) when you consider the abundance of stations across the US which used the other more commonly seen styles.

I don't see them being a detractor to the value of the display in question, especially for those who live along the northern border states.
