Is anyone going to Auburn to buy in the Fall Auction? They want $100 just to register to bid and another $50 per lot won, + a 15% final value fee!!! I'm looking for someone who might be going or who's already registered that would be interested in splitting the registration fee and bid on 1 specific lot for me. Please PM me if interested...

I know... There's a lot that I REALLY want to shoot for, but with a $1000 bid, I'm looking at $1300 total after fees + the time to drive down there and pick it up. I figure with that much cost associated just to bid, that might deter enough people to where some of the lots would go cheap. Plus, My item is in Thursday's line up instead of the weekend main event, so that might be good from a competition standpoint as well, but $100 just for the "Privilege" of being able to place a bid that might not even win, that's terrible....

I bet a lot of the new collectors will just say oh well and do it. Yes, trying to collect this stuff is just getting way out of hand. They are and will keep taking advantage of us as long as people show up.

hey kids , remember in the good ole days when you went to an auction and you paid what you actually bid ? Its starting to get crazy . Good thing for the auction companies the stuff is super hot right now.

I know I'm going to be kicking myself when the hammer drops and the lot I want probably goes way cheaper than what I would've bid, but it's the principal of it. I just can't get behind paying $100.00 to place 1 absentee bid. I think I'd rather just go buy 100 scratch-off lottery tickets at this point...

I hope not many people show up, this is way out of hand. The only way it will change is by people just not taking part. This also goes for the high commissions on the other auctions for online use. I just do not do it anymore. Sad

I have quit going to these auctions that charge these ridiculous fees. As Craig said don't go and they will change.
Thanks, Phil _________________________________________________ Looking for any old pumps, or nice 5 gallon cans.
