We have found these Shell oil cans and would like to find out about them (age) and probably sell them. White cardboard with metal top and bottom. All are full and in excellent condition. Label says,"Premium aeroshell oil W" Grade 80 SAE 40. Curious item is the address of Shell Oil Company. New York 20, New York. Before zip codes.

Hi - if they are the cans I am thinking of ...if someone gives you 4 or 5 bucks each for them give them a hug too. The white Composite aeroshell quarts arent worth much. Good luck if you sell them though

You don't get it Hubba.I love this web site but only the chosen ones get feedback. If I remember, Jeff, oh its aquaelvis, bought his first pump and it was a Wayne 500?(maybe) and that pump is damn ugly and worth about 25.00. It was like no one could wait to stroke him. I don't have the money to buy every pump that come down the pike. But I'm as good as most of you and am tired of the crap. Lance called Buck out and it came down on HIM..................

I guess I missed something somewhere. I apologize for my ignorance and definately didnt mean to offend anyone. I dont know what you mean about feedback or getting stroked but I suppose I should have rephrased my response to Blink73 by saying in my humble opinion those cans are only worth 5 bucks. I guess I will stop putting in my 2 cents if it is bugging people - I love this Hobby and the people but if by offering my humble opinion to a new comer to shop talk rubs people the wrong way ...I will stop.

I picked up over 50 Aero Shell steel quarts that are canadian, and many have the nice aeroShell winged decal on the top, These cans looks as good on their side as standing up. A lot of the good ones sold quickly but I only got about 10 bucks or less for them. Even though they are aeroshell and steel cans, i think they are just too common.
Now get a blue, white and red Esso with the wings on the side or a Texaco and you are talking more money. So if someone tells you a can isnt worth a whole lot cuz its common dont take it personal.
Also some of the people that participate have a bit of comedian in them and tend to stimulate conversation on oldgas. Sometimes they are people you email quite regularly and it is esier to post on oldgas than to jump out of it to email them.
So get creative put on a quiz or a riddle or post a pic of a mystery tool or item and you will get feedback, warped sense of humor not necessary but may help....dodogas

Also I might add, a lot of these regulars took some fairly intense ribbing the past few months, I get the feeling that there are people that post on here that would not take a week of thong-boy jokes or sheep-chasing jokes all that good-naturedly. Some people might actually think we mean it..

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>> >> Actually we usually mean it but in the NICEST way...LOL..dodogas

Blink73,
Hubba is EXACTLY right about the value of the cans. The composite version just doesn't bring much. Empty they sell for $3 or $4, full they bring $5. If they are priced at $7 or $8 the dealer takes them back home. (I'm speaking from experience.)

Hey anybody got any Wayne 500's, 600's for $25 ? I bought 6 or 7 of them once just to get the signs off them and ended up making "Car" (chevy, ford, roadrunner, etc)pumps out of them. Guys liked them to go with their 60's cars. Lots of stainless, lift off doors, flat glass, makes an easy pump to restore.

Does anyone remember last month on ebay when some guy had some beautiful Chevron Winged Ad Glass that didnt sell because some of the sizes were weird ???? Was it anyone on here ?

Thanks
larry

Thanks for all the information. Nothing taken personally. This is America and all are entitled to their opinion. I am thankful that there are people like all of you out there that would take the time to answer my questions. It makes for a smaller and smarter America.

Hey 5, how you doing . I've talked to you on the phone about your 5 quarts, and there hard to collect, and to find. I think I have 3 and not very good ones , as far as the Powerlube or Gilmore, I've never seen the powerlube and the Gilmore that I saw wasn't that good but very pricey, but out here we have a bash comeing up in October and Reno nexted weekend, so good luck on your search and if I come accross one you want me to buy it for you????
