Hello all - As a somewhat "digitally challenged newbie", I think I have finally figured out how to re-size my photo and finally post a picture. This is one of the first pumps I purchased, a Gilbarco FMP2A clockface farm pump. It is in all original condition, original paint. I'm going to leave this one "as is", I just like the character of it.
I've seen several posts of "farm pumps", especially Gasboys, and just wondering how many of you have them in your collection? I'm enjoying them because they are much easier to find, cheaper to purchase, easier to transport, and perfect for practicing my very "novice" restoration skills. Having said that, I am "chomping at the bit" to find a classic old full size retail pump to purchase, and restore. But in the meantime, I am having fun with these.
Now that I have figured out how to post pictures (grinn), if anyone would like pictures of other farm pumps, let me know. I have Tokheim 86D and 93HD, Gasboy 100-W, 290, 390, 53C, and a very old Gasboy Series 15 clockface.
Thanks all!
Eric

Nice job Paul! I like that Polly gas theme! I like your restorations. Here's a picturee of my John Deere (Gasboy 53C).
ToplesCuda - that sounds like a good idea. I agree...since these pumps are not worth that much, it's good to make them into something we enjoy. Although, I have seen some nice restored farm pumps sell for $800-$1000.

Why are you folks calling these, "Farm Pumps"? Farms used whatever pumps they could find/rent from Bulk Oil Company's, CO-OPS, Farm Supply Stores, neighbors.... etc... (or at least that is where all those that had farms that I knew, got their pump's from)
The Pumps you are writing about; are Commercial Pumps, used for multiple purposes in situations where a cash total was not needed....
They were used at Industrial Sites, Warehouses, Cab Companies, Police Stations, Fire Stations... etc... And yes, occasionally they ended up on Farms... As did curbsides/previsibles, visibles, clockfaces, computers...
Jack and others that have more Pump brochures and information than I; will correct me if I am not correct... But, I don't remember seeing any pump spec sheet that states that a certain pump was made only for Farm use.... That would be a "Farm Pump"....
I never have been drawn to these small Commercial Pumps.
I see that a lot of thought and workmanship has gone into these restorations and I can now see their appeal in a different light. They still "aren't my cup of tea". But, I have a better understanding of why so many do like them....

National called their N-500 a "Motor Farm Pump". Erie called their Model 4007 a "Farm Fueler" Tokheim and Gilbarco used the terms "Fleet" or "Commercial" when referring to their models. Gasboy (Wilson) made the meters and these companies put their own cabinets on them. Ron

Ron, I thank you for that information. Obliviously; I was wrong and my research was not/is not what it should be.
Thank you, for filling in some gaps in my knowledge....
