After reading viking1's recent post on small pumps I looked around and found one locally. It's a Tokheim 40. Not much to them but I was wondering if anyone who has restored one has a suggestion on how to hold in the clock dial face, and hose connection if you remove the pump, motor, etc.

I'm thinking I would tack weld a couple tabs on the front panel to hold the clock dial in place but was wondering if there's a better way. Thanks

I also have a followup question about the dial disassembly. I've removed the two small set screws on the dial pointer and it spins freely, but how is the knob removed that still holds the pointer on? It appears to have some sort of small u clip, but I don't want to break it trying to get it off.
