Hi guys, after some information about this, its apparently a Texaco 1 quart oil bottle from the 1920's with embossed writing. What im wondering is, is the pump top original as i cannot find any information or pictures of anything even close to it? Im thinking of buying it because its different but its really expensive and i want it to all be original before i go ahead!
Cheers

Michael

I thought it was for use with precise jobs but as you said, i haven't seen one before! ive never used a pump for bleeding my brakes either, just a tube into a bottle smile

Not for bleeding, filling the master cylinder.

I'm with Jay on this. I have a similar one made by Bendix that uses a bottle and their aluminum fill tube set up for master cylinders. Turn it upside down and gravity drain it.

So is this quite rare? it at a local auction and the estimate is $600-$800 Australian, seems pretty steep to me?

In my opinion what you are buying is the Texaco bottle, which I don't have a clue what the worth is. The pump is a generic type item made to fit on any oil bottle with that diameter neck and thread pitch. I don't believe the pump is a Texaco item.

I see what appears to be the word TEXACO ? I don't see a Texaco logo from the twenties ? Is there a logo ? The worth ? Surely not no $600-$800.

Kind of think Blacktee is right on, he is our Texaco guy. I will gladly sell my Bendix filler for half that, or less.
