Hello all - I ran across this interesting find and, at $20, could not pass it up. It's a "Brodie Meter", and I just like the look of it. This one has obviously been painted over, but I'm thinking of blasting / priming it, painting it red (I think they were originally black), and restoring it just for fun. I might mount it atop a small faceless consumer pump just for kicks.

Has anybody else done anything with these Brodie Meters?

Thanks

Eric

Not used in service station, probably a bulk plant meter. Could have been on just about any place where they needed to meter a product. This one has a set back on it so it was used for small amounts of different products. Might have been used on a tanker truck.

Thanks Jack for your info. I'll post a picture when I have it restored. I've used your second edition Gas Pump book "countless times" already.

Hi Eric. Here is a Brodie Meter that I got off of a tanker truck years ago. Larry

Thanks Larry for the picture. I have found some brochures online, and it looks like they were mostly black, like your unit.

Hi Larry - another question for you on your Brodie Meter. Have you ever tried to remove the "reset lever" from your unit? I took min apart over the weekend, and I could not remove the front panel because the reset lever pin appears to be "pinned in place". My efforts to knock out the tiny pin (on the inside of the unit), WD40, etc, failed. Would you happen to have any tricks to removing the reset lever?

Thanks!

Eric
