To my gas and oil friends, I lost my wonderful sweet wife of 54 years last night. Many of you have met Mary Sue over the years at Columbus and at Iowa Gas. We were best friends and both loved to collect. She has had Alzheimer's for the past 8 years but it didn't really get bad until about a year ago and then really bad the past month. Anyway, thank you to those that have already heard and have contacted me

Ray, I'm not sure what to say really. With all I've been going through with Melissa, it's tough to see your post this morning and I feel as though any words will only fall short. But my heart and prayers go out to you and your family!!! I pray for your peace of mind after such a thing. 54 years is an amazingly long time. There must have been a lot of wonderful times!!

I have been going thru a similar situation with my wife this past year . In and out of the hospital 3 times this year , once in intensive care and almost lost her.
So much stress I know first hand .Still dealing with the memory loss , same questions over and over.
I am sure it took a lot of understanding on your part as I find myself getting frustrated sometimes and try to catch myself.
We get so busy in life & it passes so quickly , we look back and wonder where it all went.
Hold on to the memories as you had many blessed years to reflect back on.

Ray, Joanne and I are sorry for your loss. We both first met you and Mary Sue in Iowa a few years back when you delivered a 18" OK sign I had you bring there. I know when we last chatted earlier this year how bad things were so even though she has moved on we will keep you in our daily thoughts and prayers and hope it helps you though your loss!

Ray,
I am so sorry for your loss. I know that the two of you were very close and shared a special loving relationship for many years. Whenever I saw Mary Sue I could see the love and joy in her eyes for you. She always smiled whenever we talked at a show and I will also miss seeing her. I will be praying for you during this very difficult time.

Ray,
I am truly sorry to hear of the passing of your wife. I never had the pleasure of meeting her but my dad did when you stopped by Colorado Springs on your way to Iowa Gas to deliver a couple of signs. He really enjoyed the conversation you guys had and really thought your wife was as sweet as they come. I cannot begin to comprehend how difficult it is for you to lose your wife? I witnessed my dad's pain after my mom's passing....they were married 54 years as well.
My thoughts and prayers are with you through these rough times and if there is anything I can do, please let me know.

Ray....so sorry to hear about Mary Sue. She was always the consummate "California Girl" just pretty as a picture and bubbly personality.
