I just purchased an original gold standard crown gas globe in amazing condition from the original owners wife. The only problem is it has some glitter or it might be crushed glass on the gold paint on top and some on all the sides. She said it came that way, but I haven't seen it before. Does anyone know if any came this way or if station owners did this type of thing?

No it's original paint. It's just a shadow on the photo.

NO--they never came this way! This was done by an individual at some point in the globes life. Your last picture seems to show white droplets of something and it was probably some glue that was added and sparkly junk added?
Its all just speculation, but we know one thing--It was added at some time by someone!

Yeah that was definitely added. Someone got creative with probably a clear adhesive and glitter. Id try soap and water on a towel to remove. I'd probably also try my old favorite "wax and grease" remover from an auto paint store. Test it somewhere to see if gold comes off with it. I doubt it will take off gold paint. Then carefully see if you can get the glitter to release from the adhesive with it. don't soak the paint just work it slowly.

I figured they never came this way. I was just giving the owners wife the benefit of the doubt
