I don't know if any of you saw this post on facebook "Picks of the Week", but someone had posted this expose on a couple different sites, and then had to remove it because of the flack he was getting from the outside!
It just shows what we are up against in this reproduction battle and the extent to which these signs are being reproduced!
Someone took a screen shot and reposted it on "Picks of the Week", so that the discussion can continue!

Thanks Kevin and all the veterans here on OG for your continued vigilance and your diligence to keep the rest of us informed. Makes a guy consider just sticking with the old pumps.

Look for the repro Wayne 50 and other if you think that is a good idea for pumps only.

Not for sure but I would bet most of the Honest sellers own a hammer and acid wash them before they sell.

I would like to thank a lot of the old gassers on here for the education about repop signs. D B. took the time to explain of what to look for in signs and i was gratefull. Just wanted to thank the guys on here for filling in a large void..

Besides I would Rather have a rusty original sign hanging on the wall, Than have a shinny repop.

Good work guys if we keep exposing them and we have 15000 members its going to help. Red Indian never made a sign like the one shown . Totally different . Their porcelain process cannot match the way Canada and the USA did it back in the day . Our old boys were the best . These guys trying to profit on our history sucks . But we have great people in this great hobby working to preserve the real signs . Again if anyone needs help authenticating a real red indian sign e mail me or message anytime . redindianguy@hotmail.com . Long live the real stuff .

I too saw this post as soon as it was posted on FB. It was scary enough when India was supposedly the only outlet for this junk. Now apparently China has come into the market. That is extra scary because they will mass produce this stuff until we choke on it! Just spotted a Rio Grande PPP on Ebay this morning..from India. They are popping out more new stuff faster than we can keep track of it!

I too applaud the effort ... sad reality it's just a drop in the bucket. At least we can keep fellow members that ask from getting ripped off.

These unmarked items that are made to deceive are eventually going to have a very bad influence on original items.

I bet there are guys who think they bought rare signs off of Ebay that have a whole collection of fake signs. Then they compare theirs to the real ones and think the real ones are fake!
