My wife was given this gas tank from her work, looks to be vintage and somewhat modified and restored to work as a piece at her work. Her work is undergoing renos and the tank was on its was out the door so she scooped it. I know nothing about tanks but find them quite beautiful ( see them on those picker shows ect. on TV. ) From what I have been able to figure out, it looks like a Canadian ECOMETER clockface. Ill try to post a pic. Any thoughts and comments would be appreciated, I would love to know if I have anything here and if it is worth fiddling with to bring it to a nicer state.

You have a very nice piece there, and beauty is always in the eye of the beholder, so what ever you do to it should be pleasing to you. Will you increase the value? Probably not, but some correct signage and decals would make it more appealing. I don't particularly like the color, but that pump could easily be changed to any color and brand of gasoline that you wanted. A simple color change and different decals would do it for you. If you are going to sell it, then don't do anything to it because any competent pump collector will see it for what it is and what it can be. I can't give you a value on the pump as I am not familiar with those pumps, but if it is all original except for the signage, I would think around $2000 would be close? There are others on this forum that are more familiar with this brand of pump and will likely chime in when they find this. I have to warn you though---pump collecting is very addictive and if you have one for more than a week, there will soon be others occupying your excess garage space! Welcome to the addiction!---KEVIN

What you were given was gold just like it's colour...Lol Model 126 and a really hard Canadian pump to find. There was a double version of these as well with glass faces. Worth well upwards of 2k in my area as they are only a few known in collections. Great pump and congrats to you and your wife.

If you do decide to sell it, please post it here on Old Gas, where you got your information! If you decide to keep it and become a collector, be sure to visit these pages often to see what else is available, and to learn lots more about gas pumps!

There have been many times that amateur pickers came to this site for information on the object they have acquired, only to post it for sale on facebook, Craigslist, or ebay, without giving the site where they got the information, a chance at all. Because of that, a few members of this site became pretty sour when it came to giving out information to anyone they didn't know. The information that's available on this site is very extensive and its greatly appreciated when a new person gives the members of this site, the first chance at an item that is for sale. Thank you for your understanding and I hope that this site was useful enough for you that you continue to visit these pages every chance you get!

I get that and can respect where you are coming from. No worries...not looking to do anything with it at this point but figure out what I have and weather or not it was really worth putting any money into it to spruce it up... I really do appreciate all the comments and information I have been given

Dave that clock face looks brand new. Given their rarity would someone have reproduced these? Or is that as good as it looks.
