When I bought this pump I was going to do a nice restoration but when I got it, it was badly rusted. Instead of investing a ton of money in it I decided to do a rustoration. I did things to it(body filler and epoxy seam sealer in rust holes) that I am not proud of to get it looking decent.

Matt, what you did is pretty much what we would have done in the '60s.

The most important object at "the Working Station" was to get the pump up in working condition; as quickly as possible, using the best method(s) available at the time... (that included wire brushing a rust spot, using body filler if needed, prime and paint)


The Pump looks exactly like it should, IMO.... Thanks for sharing!

Having the complementary color underneath (the red) can also give it depth if the coat on top is not too thick in places. I do that a lot for my paintings to give them depth

Looks great! As do all your pumps!!!
