One day I was doing some plumbing and came up with this idea. It is a 6" PVC elbow I sanded the rough spots off and then painted it white. Then glued a metal globe holder on the top, drilled some holes in it to put 4" screws to the wall at an angle. Ran the electrical cord in it. It is very solid. Pat. Pending (just joking)ha

Cool. Even thought globes aren't terribly heavy, the screws into the wall worries me a little bit? How about using a cap or an internal flange to screw to the wall and then slip the elbow over? Looks nice!

I like your idea Signs&Neon,or use a external mount even? I think I used some 6"screws to make sure they angled into the stud. Anyways, I tested it by putting 15+pounds on the mount. It didn't move any. So, I figured it was safe to mount my globe on it.
I look forward to seeing you guys perfecting this design.
I'll probably use a variation of Signs&Neons mount idea on the next one.
