Something about this sign seems off. I know they made about 3 or 4 versions of this sign if you count the Aussie versions. This one is different and off. It also does not help that the seller has some fakes in his listings as well. Buyer beware, i am not bidding.

Mobilgas Restroom Sign

One in Question:

I watched this seller out of Pensacola, FL. They sell under 2 names I have seen....If it was me I would stay away from anything they have.

There are enough questionable differences IMO that I would stay far away from the sign in question.
It's too bad, this is likely the first repro to appear of the restroom signs which previously were "safe" to buy. Like Jamie mentioned, probably the first of many we'll be seeing. But obviously due to the value of them, it was just a matter of time before they appeared.

Saw those too this morning Dan...odd size, "5X7". The one has an "IR" date code as well, so the first to have that marking. Grommets are funny too, not the split kind. Something stinks.....

IR Code looks faked as well IMO

So, the signs with i.r.47 you guys think are fakes??? Did any of the original signs have the date? Seems odd they would use the same date used on the pump plates? Seen a lot showing up on eBay. I have an original that doesn't have a date.

They are definitely fakes....none of the originals were dated.

Yes, in the last month several per week have been appearing on Ebay. Some have the IR47 date code, others do not but are the incorrect smaller size. Just as predicted the container has arrived from India and these are flooding the market. Buyers need to do just a little homework to buy an original.
