I have to give a big thanks to my son-in-law (pumpfinder) who came up with the top two globes in this photo!

They both came from a family that had an old Texaco station in Milwaukie, OR. There is supposed to be some old photos of the station with one or both of these globes -- will post if we get them.

Thanks again, Jeff!

I agree with everyone...son-in-law has a great nose for this

...I do enjoy the Texaco Star, but my other son-in-law wants it in my will -- just concerned on how long I will be alive, with everyone wanting a piece of my collection! :-)

Super nice!

Put it in your will - whether you tell them who gets what while your alive or they find out after, itemize it so their is no misunderstanding or fighting or--well--underhandedness after.

I'm guessing that it should be offered first to the one that found them for you, and you could offer the other son-in-law to tag other things with similar value, or pick them out if you want to keep it to yourself. If you tell them, let they know you might have to sell them yourself if you need the $$.

Went through a nightmare in my family when my Dad did not itemize 'prized' items in his will.

Good advice for all of us to take - even for non-petrol items.

We want items to go to the people we desire and might appreciate more - but most of all, don't want family strife to occur, because of our inability to communicate our wishes

...the globes are outstanding - but I thought the star globe was only used in Australia?

Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

I hadn't seen this post. Nice globes Dave! Regarding the Australia piece, that's the common knowledge. But the guy these globes came from swore that he had a pic of them in his family station. Who knows if that's true at this point but if he comes up with the pic we'll share it.

And about being buried in the Wayne 800...I think we better plan on a double showcase wink

Jeff... now you know the Wayne 800 is willed to my son - and I figured to small for my burial.

I figured I'd get another 850 - a bit more room... are you trying to say, my size will require a "double" showcase!?! :-)
