I currently have a Mobiloil can rack up for auction on eBay. I was led to believe it is an original rack and listed it as such. Another eBay member contacted me to tell me she thought mine was a repo. My eBay name is pinkjla. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I don't want to take it off to correct the wording unless I have to because I have a pending offer for it.

It looks correct to me. I'm not an expert on Mobil items, but I do have the exact same carrier and mine is a known original.
I have attached pictures of mine for your comparison.
Maybe some of the Mobil collectors will chime in here?

Kevin I need the "cloud" Pegasus sign to make mine whole again. Want to part with yours? LOL. I agree the OP has an original oil can rack from Mobil.

This one looks real to me; would love to have it in my collection. Good luck with your pending sale.

I want to sincerely thank all who have answered my question. I felt I had an original one but wanted to be sure. I did not want to mislead anyone. Again thanks to all who sent me "some food for thought". Kindest regards to all!

Why do the top sign and end signs not match the scratching and color of the bottom front signs?

These rack signs have been reproduced at least to some extent.

I have this rack also and it is consistently scratched and consistent off white. Much different than what I see in the listing pictures.

I'm not convinced.

Jim

I would say "peggy" is happy resting on that rack ...

Killer idea for the design.
