I always thought that the originals had the screw base? Maybe I need educated on this globe.

A FEW early non-lettered Red crowns had 7" flanged glass bases. Those should also have the arrow heads on the lower ridge below the red band. The later crowns have raised slash marks instead of the arrow heads. Most non-lettered crowns have a 7" screw on metal base. This one appears to be a reproduction.
