I am finally at the point where I need to be deciding on a color scheme for my Wayne 805 double pump. It always seems that every pump is red and I want it done in something different? I can always do black and white for Cities Service, but I think I'd like something different but at the same time, kind of reserved? Not interested in Polly or Gilmore, but some of the little known companies had some really nice colors? Any suggestions? Anyone have any nice color pictures of Wayne 800's, besides what is on the google search?

Ah decisions, decisions. Take some stress out of your life Kevin and sell the pump to me and you will have one less thing to worry about

Kevin,
First of all I like Steve's idea, but I know you will not be doing that.
My suggestion, the pump was made in Ft. Wayne, In. Start there and broaden the area around Ft. Wayne until you find a company whose colors and graphics would look great on your twin. I agree with you, don't do something that someone else has already done, make this pump distinctive.

Kevin, is that picture what it looks like today and you want to change it?
How about White Star Refining out of Detroit? Not to far from Ft. Wayne. Just a thought.
Another thought, Don't you have one of those Mobil/Gargoyle street side oil cabinets? How about a pump to go along with that? So although somewhat Mobil, it would actually be Vacuum Oil Company? I love red, white and black together!!

That is why I have so many things done in primer and not painted. Once it is done then too costly to change.

Seaside "Grade and Silver Gull" would look good. One would have a blue base and lower part of sheet metal and the other would have red. Or how about Wilshire "Economy and Radio". I like the light green with a dark green base.

Derby, Kanotex, or White Eagle, or Champlin. Just some ideas for midwest companies.

How could I forget my favorite, SHELL. It would look good in 30s Shell orange-yellow with a red base. Here are some pictures from my 30s Shell sign and painting manual.

...that manual is killer...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
