Thanks to Anthony in Calif. finally found a picture of my sign that I have had but did not know what went in the top. Here is the picture he sent me and now I know what went in there and just now need to know about what age. I would have never guess the colors from the black and white picture, but guess the old colors were different from the later blue, red, and white. Now the big question to restore the sign or leave it as is, and yes the neon color on the yellow would probably be either Clear red or novial yellow. BIG THANKS ANTHONY BEEN LOOKING FOR YEARS.

The sign on the back building might help date it. The car is 1927-29 era

Great sign, Craig! I am assuming, once restored, it will go on a pole. Am I correct? Hen PS_1 -- Great station photo, Anthony PS_2 -- Any idea on pumps? Clock-face? PS_3 -- don't we wish "digital cameras" were available then!

It could, I have it split now into two signs. One could be mounted on the wall with the J channel we have and the other could be put onto a pole. Big question is whether to restore the sign or leave it as is. Possibly one side restored ? Thanks

THANK YOU, this would make this one of the earliest neon signs. ...the banner on the wall says '1940'...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

I was just thinking when I looked at the photo, that folks might hold onto their cars for awhile. I know I had my pickup truck from 83 to 02, when part of our barn landed on it.
But Neon was introduced in signage in the U.S. in 1923, so ya never know. What era is that style of sign? That might give you a clue to the age of it. It has that art deco look--very nice styled sign. Please post picture when you have it lit...
