We arrived in Des Moines on Wednesday aftenoon. I met many cool people from this site, Dick Benett, Gas pump Rob, Chad Sith, Keithia, Quartcans, Jack Sim, and others too. I talked to many people throught the show and pump sales were not good in my eyes. I brought home 12 gas pumps!! Thats right I had to rent a trailer to get them all home. I didnt buy anything rare, just 40s-50s pumps, but I paid around 75 dollars apiece. You cant hardley buy them in the bush for that!

Other examples that didnt sell.

Tok 850 round 1000.00 didnt sell
wayne 71 2200.00 didnt sell
wayne 519, with buttons 1000.00 didnt sell

These are pretty cool pumps at real good prices in my eyes. The only pumps that seemed to change hands were either really cheap or really rare.

I saw a G&B 86 that was complete and pretty nice sell for 400.00

400 bucks? Is'nt this pump easily a 700.00 pump?

Des moines was a better spot for signs, cans and globes. I had a great time. See you next year.

Ryan

Ryan,
It was great meeting you at Iowa Gas. I hope you make good use out of those pumps. Dick and I scored some more pumps on the way home in Co. near Denver. Too many pumps to get home. We left some there and cherry picked the best value pumps.I am still recovering from that long drive!!

It was good to hear that your trip home went well. You guys have some big stones to drive all that way for a gas show. It was great talking to you there, keep in touch.

Ryan i also was looking for 1 good pump to take home but i looked real close....the Tokheim 850 was rusted thru everywhere....the wayne 71 was missing doors for 1 side and was 2300.00.....the 519 had broken cylinder around bottom edge....i did however happen to find and a buy an Erie 71 in excellent original condition...not even a dent in the skins....there were pumps there for everyone thats for sure....mm
