Well most of you have seen all my post about needing parts and info on a couple of pumps that I took apart years ago and lost or forgot where some of the parts went. Most of us put buys of the week in the context of something we purchased or found. Mine is a little different.
Put the ad in last week for needing some parts, lucky me someone had things that I needed. Completely forgot about his email when on Saturday I got a call from an old gas member here Spencer from up in Washington. Low and behold Spencer had the top of this old Bennett 155 and the bottom had been cut off. Well lucky me he told me what he had and sent pictures, low and behold everything I needed and then some. Who besides an old gas guy would have saved the top of an old gas pump and not the visible kind.
Well He was willing to bring this 1 1/2 hours out of his way and meet me in Chahalis which is 1 1/2 hours away from me. Got there around noon and there it was, less than half a gas pump but everything I needed. We thanked each other and went back home. I of course could not help myself and took the parts and pieces apart. The extra rotted sheetmetal and pump mech went into the recycle that comes on Monday and I had the rest.
Buys of the week, month or whatever, this is what we all hope to have here someone wise enough to save the stuff and help out a fellow member.
Thanks again Spencer and will see you again in the future.

Another great story that's 20-40 years in the making! Got to love OG. If ever the expression "one man's junk is another man's treasure" were true, this is it!!
