Jim, there are a lot of people on here that do not follow rules that are stated in each of the forum columns or listings. The ones that do not follow them always seem to have a wording around it as if they were trying to avoid the rules. Just many people here are tired and do not want to say anything, they just move on.
We are lucky here that there are a few here that take on responsibilities for all of us. Not going to mention any names, but thank you to the ones who do.

Besides that, I am sure a guy from Europe does not know the process of our pecking order here.

Hi Craig, I wish you a happy new year 2017 and hope the best for you and all the members of this forum

I didn't know I broke the rules by creating a Topic to show what we bought, as a collectors, sharing our passion between us, isn't it the purpose of this oldgas forum instead of grumble on the person who post something ( I didn't know BOTW or BOTY was assign to one person only

if you want ask Jim to erase this topic and that Anthony recreate the same topic, I don't care, don't you think there are more important things in life than that ???

to stay on the topic, I add this french oil can, it took me a few years to find one in good condition

You guys did good last year .Here are my buys of the year , Flying A sign , Veltex sign , Mobile Globe , and Frontier globe . They all came from the same source . I'm very grateful to have them but I'm not happy about why I got them , sadly its because a really good guy passed away.

I’m really looking forward to this year’s BOTY topic because we have had so many great collections changing caretakers. There have been members who added multiple new items to their collections and there have been some that just added that one piece that really made it a special year for them.

I really enjoy this forum and all who participate in it to make it what it is - a great place for fellow members to share with others who have the same interest in the hobby their enjoyment in Petroliana, and their great experiences they have had throughout the year.

I really hope everyone will participate in this year’s BOTY thread regardless of the way the post was originally started. I personally know some collectors have added some great items to their collection, and I know there are a lot of members here who would love to see them. If we could just move on with this topic as it was intended, that would be great.

Below are some of my favorite buys from this past year. Some were acquired from fellow Oldgas members and others from some of the auctions that have taken place over this past year. Happy New Year everyone, Keep them coming!!

Ps Great stuff so far!!!

Probably my Derby Flexgas globe.

I had the lenses in 2015 - but it took 16 months to locate the correct body for them.

So I finally got to display it in 2016.

Later . . .

Been a light year for me as my Challenger restoration has taken a hit on my fun monies but it's almost done so 2017 should be back to normal LOL!!!

I know I picked up a few more this year but these are my highlights that stick out!

Always look forward to the BOTY thread, I find myself looking thru past years all the time, always see such tremendous items.

2016 was the best year I've ever had for adding to my collection. I can't imagine 2017 will come even close... here are my favorites:

After looking at my BOTW pictures for 2016 I decided to pick a few instead of posting several. I added a lot of Shell stuff to my collection but I really like these non Shell items.

Nothing to big for me last year. I picked up some odds and ends. All these cans are metal. Never saw the DTR in anything but cardboard before. Also never saw the 1/8 gallon cans. Pretty sure they were all originally used in Europe.
I also didn't get anything from the Kyle Moore auctions. I had my eye on a few, bid on some but my limit was blown out of the water on all of them. Maybe this year.

Well, I just got into this hobby in 2016 so everything feels like a BOTY to me. If I had to pick a few favs, I think I would go with these.

The one in the front is a Canadian square Bowser twin. Had looked for about 30 years to get one. Now another has popped up, what is the chance of that.
