They only recently started showing up on e-Bay and in my mind, I have questioned there authenticity.

I have been hesitant to buy one myself. There are just to many of them it seems. They're on ebay all the time.

New on my radar so being these are the first ones I have ever seen I'm going to say good luck on a cap as these are a new deal.

Thanks

Hi, Guys. I haven't seen this oil bottle before either. But, I did just Google it. There are records of these specific Sunoco Dynalube glass oil bottles being auctioned as early as 2011, including at a Dan Matthews event several years ago. So, at least this Sunoco bottle didn't just "surface" in the gas/oil collecting hobby.

I'm certainly no "expert", but I think it's possible these Sunoco bottles could be the real deal, given the fired-on graphics technique used.

Finally...what is it that people say about history repeating itself? Below is a link to a 2012 Old Gas thread about these very same Sunoco glass oil bottles. It makes good reading. John

I read that original thread before I bought this as well. Anyone have any leads on a cap for it?

I was always under the impression these were the real deal. This thread is surprising to me.
