I recently purchased this for my 1941 1/2 ton Dodge WC power wagon, Can anyboby shed any light on what exactly it was made or used for?

Back in the day, some states had a "ton fee" that needed to be added to the liscense plate to denote that this was a heavier vehicle and had paid the appropriate fees. This could be a product of some state that made sure 1/2 tons were recognized for what they were, even though all trucks had the same liscensing?

Just a guess, but I remember back in the early 70's that I needed a "Ton Fee" on my little grain truck if it was used for anything commercial.

Rick, that is a Kansas plate that was added to a truck plate. 1951 is white on blue, 1955 is white on black.
