This month I wanted to do a visible. I chose the G&B 176 family. This includes the 176, 177, 178, and 179. These visibles seem to be very common around my area. They are fantastic looking classic visibles in my opinion. Everyone should own at least one someday! Time to post some pictures if you have them!
-G&B 176: 1925-1938. Nozzle control, 10 gallon, hand operated. There was also a square version of this pump. -G&B 176: 1926. 2nd version. Pump handle is slightly different. -G&B 176: 1928. 3rd version. Again pump handle is different being cast iron instead of steel. -G&B 177: 1925. Adjustable stop, 10 gallon or 5 gallon. Long access door. -G&B 178: 1926. 10 gallon visible with long access door. -G&B 179: 1927. Mechanical measure, 10 gallon. Long access door.
Again, credit the above information to Jack Sim and his book.

This was my first pump.20+ years ago on the way home from Indy Ad we stopped in a little shop -I think on Rt 40. The lady said that it was consigned by a guy who always brings in another ,as soon as one sells. Ive often wondered if it was a member of Oldgas. I put it up on the porch and its been there ever since. Kinda funny- I was so worried I overpaid. For the life of me I don't know why the photo comes sideways. I have it saved right side up...

I am posting this picture for Pat Mulvihill. Here is his 176. It was never rebranded and still had the remnants of the factory paint. So he restored it in the original color scheme. The only reproduction items on the pump are the decals and the cloth hose.
