Dear Oldgas Veterans,
I need your help. I purchased this Union 76 porcelain curved signed. It appears original...I believe circa late 60s early 70s. Here is my question: How was this curved sign used? I did some research and found a pic of a Union 76 gas station pump (pic number 3) where they appear to have some sort of images used around the curvature of the top of the gas pump. Was this the manner that this sign might have been used? Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks in advance!

I keep thinking these were used on plastic trash cans that sat on the Pump islands. Are the porcelain and do they have any mounting holes. The station next to my shop used to be Pure then 76 and I can remember 76 trash cans that were marked because I always wanted one. The only other thing I can think of is some sort of small signage used at bulk plants.

Thanks
Mike

Mike,
The sign is indeed porcelain. There are four mounting holes in the four corners.I never thought about the idea about the trash cans on the island. Thanks Mike!

Trash cans were probably 76 grease or oil barrels?

How about a picture of the holes, preferably better quality than the pictures posted already.

Here is the back side. It shows the four mounting holes better.
