First off I would like to say I got the chance to meet our leader Jim Potts for the first time in person. Anyone who has ever met him knows that he is one of the nicest guys around.

The show held in Columbia, Missouri was as full as I have ever seen it with vendors from several states. The sign quality was excellent and the prices were strong. I saw several unique globes but since I don't know globes I can't relay the prices. I did take some pictures for the globe guys. The cans were what I would classify as poor. This show has never been a strong can show in the past either. I did manage to add 8 to my collection though and they are pictured. I did see a mint Marquette sell for $100 which was a good buy. Current NFL Oakland Raider quarterback was in attendence as well for you football guys.

I tried to take pictures of different signs and I missed out on some really cool signs that sold on Friday. Gas Pumps were very minimal and the ones I did see never left their trailers.

Here are the quart cans that I bought. The Lion is metal as well as the rest. The last can I did not buy. The condition was rough and the price was $300 but still a neat can.

That is all that I have for this show review. I forgot my camera on Friday and missed some neat signs that sold. Jim should have some photos that he took today and hopefully he will share his purchses with us. He got a really cool globe that I hope he will share with us and tell us how he found it HAHA. Just kidding Jim and it was very nice to meet you in person and we should be proud to have him and this website that we can all share stories and pictures.

Any questions or complaints email me above .

Scott in Kansas City

Elvis, I can't remember what it sold for. It was pretty rough. This globe was sold previously to the show for $1536 and delivered but I thought you might want to see it. Hudson Oil Company from Kansas City, Missouri. It was sold to a Hudson collector from Kansas City. Scott

Here are some pictures I took at the Columbia, Mo swap meet. It was a fun time for me to talk with Oldgas members face to face. John H and I were lucky to have just missed a wreck on I-70 that closed the highway for 8 hours.

Shop Talk member wfort39663 took the Tokheim 850 home. Nice one, Bill! The next image is Bill...

More pics...

Here is Jack Sim. I think that visible cylinder is actually growing out of his head. He has spent a lot of time alone with his pumps.

Here is John O'Hern of GlobesandSigns.com.

Here is friend Rob, always buyin' and sellin' those old square oil cans.

I can't believe I didn't get a photo of the other guys from Oldgas that I talked to, especially Scott "Quartcans" I think I had such a good time talking, I lost track of what I was doing!

Here are a couple of the items that went home with me. Scott Shipers saw the globe and knew I was looking for one. He told me about where it was and I still couldn't find it. He practically had to lead me to it before I could see it. It was lying down and with that turquoise body, I couldn't see it. Duh!

Bob, you'll have to help me on the correct body for that globe. The next sign was hidden in a blanket under a table. No, I didn't see that either, but the seller noticed the Zephyr patch I pinned on my Oldgas.com coat. He probably felt sorry for me after he recognized I had a bad case of petroliana. He was going to put that in his collection, but let me have it after I paid him more than any normal person would. Thanks, Wendell. I know you really liked it too.

I do pretty good when people help me.

Jim,
I "need" that globe. Haha.
The Zephyr Ethyl should be on a gill or red ripple gill body.
Nice stuff!
Bob

Hi Bob,
A couple of guys suggested that I change that sign topper to read "Oldgas Oil Co" or "Oldgas.com Garage" The topper is missing some letters, so I might just do it. Sure does look like a globe, doesn't it? It is 23" long, 3 1/2" deep and lighted.

What's a red Gill body worth? I'm not sure I can live with that turquoise Capco.

This was my first time to the columbia show, & I also got to meet & talk with Jim for the first time. What a great PR man for this hobby. I to lucked out & just came up on the I-70 wreck, had just stopped at the exit before to get gas for me & the truck, so I sat there & finished eating while I waited, I was lucky because I stopped right at that exit getting off the hwy was easy. I thought pump prices were reasonable & coming down as the day went on, there were a lot of nice globes with a wide range of prices. I was able to pickup some nice Kerr/McGee stuff for my collection! When I left I took Rt. 63 north to Macon Mo. just outside of Macon there was antique store? that had 13 gas pumps, oil can racks, lubsters & many signs, so I stopped & talked to the guy there but every thing I asked about was either not for sale or he didn't know how much the owner wanted for it. I had a great time at the show & got to talk with alot of great people
Thank's
Dug

Some of use were not so lucky on the way home we ran into the traffic jam. Sheesh what a mess. Thank god we had GPS to maneuver trough the back roads! Sure wish there would have been more pumps there, oh well saving my money for another "rainy day" literally. Oh well good show and picked up a clock.

Jim, that visible resembles my Wichita in lots of ways, mainly from the cast iron base just below the cylinder on up.
