OK, now you guys have me all confused. I bought this one from a friend for a $1,000.00 last year. It is a single sided one and has some touch up on the T which I plan to remove.

What has me confused is, has these signs gained that much value within one year? I didn't buy this to resell but I guess I need you guys to reel me back in on what this sign might be valued at just to feed my curiosity. I thought these signs where pretty still available out there in good shape.

I would be hard pressed to pay $700.00 for the above sign.

All I know is everyone says they are readily available and most people seem to have a nice one yet I can't seem to stumble across a nice one to save my life. Been looking two years now...

Les, that's a real nice sign. I think you did fine at $1000. I'm not real sure on valuation on the single-sided 42" Texacos because I'm looking for a double-side one. I've been seeing the double-sided in your condition going for $2K regularly for the past year or so. More than that in the big auctions.

Gerald, if price were no object you'd have no trouble finding one. Morphy's regularly has 1 or 2 in almost every auction. I'm just not ready to pay $3K to get one from them.

Thanks guys, I am so far out of values it makes my head spin. As for auctions I rarely do them and don't really take the prices as a good measuring stick. It's great to have oldgas for honest opinions.

I think 700 is right on the money for that sign!
