Were these made by the oil manufactures or did people make them from old oil cans? I probably over paid for it but I specifically collect Whiting Bros and hadn't seen one before. Hopefully its not some cheap knockoff. Thanks for any info.

I do have a earlier full WB composite quart and the one above appears to be consistent with that one, except of course NOT a coin bank. I know very little about oil cans, I only have a few either given to me, or local cans I can get my hands on. I believe it to be real...enough that I put in the exact same bid as you to the penny, just a few seconds later... wink

Congrats, I felt I was going a little high as well, but now that I look at my other one quart sitting by itself wish I would have gone a few dollars more for this one.
