Did you start out your career with these type of guns, Jim? LOL Not really.  I started out with Binks #7 spray guns and retired using SATA HVLP. The DeVilbiss Aeron gun on the left has a 1918 patent date on it. Slightly before my time.

I actually worked for a year in a body shop in 1968 and the old Binks #7 was what I was taught to paint with!
