Being the list is completely filled on the RioGrande Racer and it's being printed now, I have a few open spots on the next production. The image is of the rare Crescent sign of the early Chevron Oil company, there are 3 open spots on the production list. there will be only 15 sets produced as always. good luck.

J. M. Guffey Petroleum

Before the organizing of the J.M. Guffey Petroleum Company the name Guffey Oil Company was used from 1880. He was also a Colonel in the army and did one term in the Legislature, as an oilman he bought many small companies that were on the brink of bankrupcey one being the Lone-Star/ Crescent oil company of Houston (1891). He used this company to build a large refinery in Florence Colorado and purchase a large amount of stock in the Pacific Coast Oil Company. About 1903 the name of the Crescent Oil Company was changed to Chevron Oil Company but he kept the logo image of the Crescent Moon for the sales of Gasolene and motor car fuel. 1904 he sold a part of this company to the Security Oil Company a subsidiary of Standard Oil of New Jersey.
