So, I drug this baby home a few weeks ago after stumbling onto the clockface pumps I loaded as well. Now, not sure exactly which way I want to go with it. All original parts are here along with the original SUNOCO sign “AM 6/50” on the top. As I look at it sitting here pictured, part of me thinks it is really quite unique with all it’s dirt, grime and paint loss. Another part of me looks and goes “ugh”.....thinking it needs freshened up. I am sure there are good points to both sides, and right now I am kind of paralyzed as to what to do with this 68 year old gem. Any thoughts to sway me one way or the other. Certainly I am only talking about the body here as this sign is a gem. Thanks in advance for any input.
Looking for early valvoline, freedom-valvoline, franklin pa items, Galena

...I would clean the $&@#% out of it, straighten what I could, and LEAVE IT...nice piece - a buddy of mine who collects Sunoco would love to have an all-original piece like that...
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...

Here’s the date! And it had a few of these metal SUNOCO cans on both sides. Haven’t seen these cans to be honest, but then again, I am not really a Sunoco enthusiast.

I wouldn't even clean it....
