Hey guys,

I'm trying to make it to Hershey for my first time in October. Of course, I know it's a huge event overall, but I'm curious if a lot of the guys with signs are in a general location or is it spread throughout? I may only be able to make it to the show for 1 day and I want to see as many of the signs as possible. I've pulled up the online info, but that's not giving me a lot of detail. Any insight from those who are going or have attended is appreciated.

If I'm lucky, maybe I'll be picking up a Morphy's purchase along the way.

Thanks,
Vince

I'd suggest coming early in the week, Wednesday early thru Thursday is best. I like starting at one end and working thru to the other but it'll take at least 2 days to see it all. Advertising vendors are spread all over but there seems to me to be a large concentration in the Red field. If I could only spend one day I'd start at the Red field and then do as much of the Chocolate field(s) as possible.

I'm definitely planning on a lot of walking and starting with the Red Field is exactly what I needed to know. If everything works out on my end then Wednesday would be the day I will be there so that is perfect. Hope the weather and everything else cooperates.

Thanks guys!
Vince

Be sure to visit Row RSD in the Red Field (between the south goal post of the football stadium and the old hockey arena). Lots of oldgassers from NJ, NY, VA, MD, CT etc set up there. Always a great selection of petroliana and Automobilia. Signs, cans, plates, spark plugs, etc etc.

Looking for photos, etc from 60s era Shell-A-Rama gas station and Pal's Diner, Rt. 17 Mahwah, NJ
& US or state highway signs, shields, route markers

I'm thinking of heading down on Tuesday so I don't have to leave at 2 in the morning on Wednesday, Can you get in to wander around on Tuesday if I arrived in the afternoon? Thanks...

Set up day is always on Tuesday. It never changes from year to year. If you buy a program, while at the show, it comes with a wooden nickel that has future dates for several years. Set up is the day before the date on the wood plug. Paul www.severngaspumps.com
