I'm new to this forum and am interested in most things related to service stations and cars. Yesterday I noted a post from a another member expressing interest in mid-Michigan's Farmer's Gas & Oil.
My uncle, grandfather, and parents managed stations for this company from the late 30's until the mid 60's. I briefly worked in a station in the mid-60's. I would be interested in discussing company
memories with this member or others.

Welcome

I am interested in all Michigan companies including Farmers Gas & Oil which was founded in 1932 at Ithaca, Michigan.
They lasted into the 1980's at least by this dated picture of the Sunfield station.
This location was destroyed by a grain tank collapse.
I have a list of addresses of 15 locations ( Stations & Bulk Plants) gathered from various sources.
I would be interested in knowing the locations you know of & would share what info I have.

Dave

My grandfather and grandfather managed this Sunfield location from approximately 1950-1959. I knew two managers prior to the flattening of the station due to the elevator collapse. My uncle and father managed the Mason, MI location in succession. What is your interest in Fargo? I believe there were 22 locations.

Here is my list of locations with some addresses.
Founded in 1932 the company listed two stations, two tank trucks, six tank cars in 1933.
President & GM George Gruesbeck, VP Harmon Gruesbeck, Sec/Treas H Butler in 1933

Later the company got up to 32 stations & I don't how many bulk plants.

I can PM other info

Hello group,
I joined today hoping to find something I have been searching for many years now. Hoping to find a recording of the Fargo gasoline radio commercial from the 60's. I remember it well but seem to be the only one who does! I recall hearing it played on AM radio stations. Possibly WION Ionia or WPLB Greenville. I also recall a roadside Fargo sign as you came into Lakeview Michigan from the south. Thank you, Kel GMan

The words to the jingle:
♪♫♫♪
Fargo, the best gasoline.
Power gasoline with the go, go, go.
Fargo, kinder to your car.
You'll go far with Fargo.
Get the gasoline with the go, go go.
Fargo gasoline.
