I know these are not great pics (I've enlarged them the best I could) but maybe someone here with a keen eye and lots of experience looking at globes can identify these globes. It is the only pics I have of the two globes from my grandfather's gas station back in the late '30's. Maybe we'll never be sure.
We are guessing Skelly but that is all we have. Thanks!

I'm interested in Deep Rock and Kerr McGee items especially if they are marked B.A. Tramp Oil

Hi, Terry, Please tell us the town and state your grandfather's gas station was located in. That may help a bit, as guys try to figure out which companies were selling gas and oil in that area. John

City and state helpful, but street address would also be helpful.

Do you have any photos of any other parts of the station? They may also help folks identify the brand.

Hi All, The town is Wynot, Nebraska. The station no longer exists. Back in 1938, they referred to the gas station's location as lot 17 and 18 of block 8. Don't know if any of this helps. Greatly appreciate your responses!

Picture in question... Note the diagonal stripe on the right pump AND seemingly on that globe.

Wynot, Nebraska...population 179 these days. Probably was a nice, friendly place back in the 1930's (and, today, too)! John

Hi Paul, that would be the pic that I enlarged to show the globes. I have no other pic. Thanks!

Yeah Terry, you may want to run an internet newspaper search. I took a quick look but my account is off so didnt get much. I did find the following brands or names in the area: Bronze, Sinclair, Standard, Mobil, Conoco, Skelly. It's easy you just go to www.newspapers.com, sign up for a free week (remember to turn it off or you get charged like $15 a month), and search nebraska, wynot, 1930-1940s, tramp, etc. If they advertized in newspapers you should pick something up.

According to what you posted in 2016 it was Skelly. Also look at the picture you posted of him at the same time. Look at his cap. I can't make it out but you might with the original photo. http://oldgas.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=229104&page=107

Keith, your right I did post but the pic on the right is late 40's if not very early 1950 about 12 years after the pic on the left. I'll keep digging but appreciate everyone responding!

Metro used red/white striped livery on their visible pumps.
Looking for photos, etc from 60s era Shell-A-Rama gas station and Pal's Diner, Rt. 17 Mahwah, NJ & US or state highway signs, shields, route markers

WNAX Fair Price Stations used striped pumps like the ones in the picture, and Nebraska was in WNAX territory.

WNAX used the barber pole stripes like these but from all my pictures I believe they were black & white stripes ...some old film reproduced dark yellow, orange or red as black...you see it sometimes in old photos of Gulf or Sunoco signs, where the colors appear reversed...perhaps they were red in the photo?
Looking for better Gulf items: signs, globes, cans and paper - especially porcelain Gulf flanges, and Gulf A-38 & A-62 ad glass...
