i,m trying to find out about this old pump i bought.i own an old train station built in 1929 in northern maine.where i have an antique shop.this pump is not from the train station it was a yard sale find.thanks for looking.the only marking i can fid are C A. USA,and it is brass

Two things. If there is a ID tag on the pump, can you either post a picture of it, or tell us here what the ID tag has on it. This type of pump was one used in private garages or in the rural area, all before 1910. The earliest date I have for the Hays company is an ad from 1921, but one piece of literature I have states that Hayes started in business in 1905.

Second, can I have your permission to use the above pictures should I want to use it in an article or in my Gas Pump book?

i,m going by my shop today and i,ll get some better pics.the only reason i thought it might be hays is the valve on the bottom is marked hays.

the more i research the more i,m getting lost.maybe its not fuel related at all.they did make brass water pumps,but it doesn,t look like any i,ve seen.
