Hi All

I'm hoping someone can tell me if this Indian Gasoline plate is real or reproduction.

Thanks for the help.

I agree, the S, N, and E are definitely different. However the S on the picture that Randy posted looks to be upside down, with the smaller portion on the bottom. Randy, I know you are very knowledgeable however are you 100% sure that one is real?

The S and E are definatly different.
Randy, are the letters in gasoline on yours outlined in black? It looks like they are in the picture. They do not look outlined on the plate in question.
May just be shadowing in the picture.

The gentleman that owns the plate claimes he has had it since the mid 70s. He picked it up in either Wisconsin or Iowa.

Problem with that is the 70s they were popping stuff. The letters on sign in question are outlined in black.

Steve,
without a doubt, 100% "the Real McCoy" - more pictures on the upside down "S" - notice on the curved indian that the "S" is as one would think it would be, on the 2
8" X 12"s the "S"s are again upside down - I believe this would be a manufacture's overlook - I've had these signs a long time & I never noticed it until this subject came up..

Chuck,
you left out the "N", notice how it is blocked on each corner, what is noticeable is the lower right of this letter..

pictures of markings on base of flat 12" X 18" .. ... cool
