I need some help identifying a pump for a friend of mine. It is a visible without skins. The bottom of the skins obviously had a bigger diameter, than the top of the skins.

Looking at the contours of the bottom jar, I believe it's a Wayne 79, 83, or 87. I can't tell if the top of the bottom jar has a radius to it or not (if that makes sense-like quarter round wood moulding). The bottom jar does not have the 'ribs' underneath like a 615 does.

Note it has 4 frame pipes, and the pump and handle is mounted very high - almost half-way up the frame. The high pump handle is not consistent with a Wayne, unless a farmer moved it up for some reason.

Could this be a hard-to-find Comwel Pump? The contours are the same on the bottom jar and the base. However, if this is an original handle, it sort of matches the Wayne's, with the 'ball' at the top of the handle.

The gallon markers match both pump brands I believe.

I've gone page-by-page in the GP Bible and am kind of stumped on this one. It's probably just some common pump and I am over-thinking it, but any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Steve

That's what I thought. The models I mentioned above 79, 83 and 87 are the Wayne Boyle Dayton pumps. It would actually have to be a 83 or 87, because the 79 was air operated. There is a small access door on the top portion of the Wayne Boyle Dayton pump skins, which may have accessed whatever is pictured just below the cylinder in my pics.

Not 100% sure I can exclude the Comwel pump. I know its a long shot, its just that the contours of the bottom jar look the same. They are out there. The Boyle Dayton and Wayne's look slightly different (however they are just factory sketches in Jack's book, which could be slightly different than production).

It's not about the value, I just want to ID it correctly. Thank you all for your help so far. Any other help is welcome. Anyone have a pic of the insides of any of the pumps mentioned?

Thanks,
Steve

The pump at the top of this thread is not a B-D Cut 83.

I do believe we have a match with the Seattle Seahawks Wayne - Boyle Dayton.

As you can see the top of the bottom jar on Dave’s first pic, the 83, has a convex curve on the top and is NOT a match.

However the Seahawks pump matches. Do you know what model that is Dave? I’m guessing it’s an 87, or Wayne changed that part on an 83 after they bought BD.

Thank you very much for everybody’s input,
Steve
