This pump was "restored" 8 years ago; reportedly sandblasted and powder coated. Should powder coating deteriorate that much in 8 years? The seller built a small awning over it on the side of a building. Based on the condition of the paint and the rust, it is hard to believe it was powder coated. The pump has an acrylic cylinder, reproduction globe holder and Shell globe. I don't think the handle is original as I have seen Rush handles with 5 or 6 slots. It is wired and all light bulbs work. It has the complete valve lever; not sawed off as many are. Asking price is $3,000. I can't get anywhere close to that price.

Out of the last 30 questions posed, only two have received zero replies, one of the two is mine. I don't get it.

What you need is a handle with 5 slots and 32 inches long. I have seen two handles without slots but they were on the model K and L. They were also shorter handles. The pump in the picture above also has the wrong nozzle. I have pictures that I could E-mail you if I had your E-Mail address. I never have any luck posting pictures on this site.

Joe I don't know much about powder coating. But if the process is shortcutted it won't hold up outside.
Some finishes call for a clear coat which means two firings. This could be the promblem.??
Maybe someone that knows more will confirm or tell me I'm full of it.

I would love to own it as Pierce used these but a trip tp texas is just not in the cards right now.
Pretty complete but without correct glass seems a little high but it wouldn't surprise me if it doesn't bring asking.

I do not think it was power coated. Most shops that do power coating will not do cast iron because the coating will blister unless you per heat the cast iron first. Most shop will not take the time to pre heat the cast iron first then dust the cast iron off again then coat the cast iron before putting back in the oven for baking. If the pump restorer uses any type of body filler or J.B. weld it will crack during the heating process in the oven. Most of the time pump restores just power coat the sheet metal parts.

Bruce, What would you pay for it if you were in the market for a Rush Model H?

The pump in my thinking is a good core for restoration. No glass, needs to be sandblasted and redone, needing parts, $2000 if you need it, if you do not $1600.

the price seems correct the paint is not any podercoat i have ever seen.
