Hi all! I was wondering if anyone had a picture of an actual Progress MFG visible dome.
I recently acquired a catalog from 1929 which shows the top resembling a hexagonal one like a Milwaukee. Most of the pictures I’ve found though have a Wayne top.

Thanks,
Ryan

Charley, my pump is the hex version. The catalog also shows the round version and the top is definitely different between the two. Is the hex top for the Progress the same as the Milwaukee?
Thanks,
Ryan

Your pump is pictured on page 292 of my Gas Pump ID book. I have never been able to find any Progress literature that mentions a ID number. The picture I used appears to be a copy of someone's restored pump, I can't find who sent it to me. It is also shown in my first book from 2000.

Remember that the old images of these pumps were 'illustrations' - not ' photos'.

The illustrations do not always reflect how the actual pump looked once it was in final production.

Later . . .

The catalog is 48 pages, 4 of which are dedicated to the two visibles they sold. The other pages are for accessories, gas/oil tanks, nozzles, fittings, racks, bottles, etc.
It appears they did not use model numbers for the visibles, but instead used model names.
The hex skin was known as "Invincible"
The round skin was known as "Peerless"
