I picked up some cans yesterday. They are Sohio, Standard Oil of Ohio, non-detergent, SAE 10, metal. I know zero about oil cans, a couple have dent issues, is there enough value there to have them repaired? I checked Ebay and found nothing.

If you're purely interested in value, condition is the name of the game. Desireability and rareness figure into this as well. Metal cans in most cases will be of more value. The better than can looks the better the value. Sohio is a brand that there are specialised collectors of and they aren't common place cans like Quaker State or Archer. If YOU like them though, sometimes that's enough in and of itself. I have a couple that I am just fond of even though their value is not much to speak of. I have an old Sinclair can I bought several years back from Ebay. I was new this game and the condition left a lot to be desired. I stilll liked and saw promise in it, so I carefully did a lengthy cleaning of it. In the end, it looks great on a shelf with all the other cans and I couldn't imagine it not being there. Sometimes resurrecting something has it's own rewards! I love this hobby and hope you enjoy the cans.....Dave
