I got this National A-1 in an unexpected trade. I had some stuff for sale and was offered it in trade. It was in pieces and missing parts. My original plan was to put it together and sell it because at the time I was selling stuff to raise money. I decided to keep it and look for parts ( I still need a door spear trim in any condition if someone has one available). I did it in 40`s/early 50`s colors and decals. The decals were N.O.S. They have cracks in them from being rolled up for years and some one not carefully unrolling them. They were also hard to get off the paper.

I could not find a sight glass manifold so I made one using parts from other pumps and some cutting and welding as needed to fit.

Looks great, Matt. Love the work to create a missing manifold.

Thank you for the complements. Great job Matt. Was the altered manifold from a Bennett? Yes, the manifold was from a Bennett 646 and Wayne 70 manifold brackets holding it in.

I like your lateral thinking on creating the manifold. I think as time goes on more of this creative thinking will be needed when saving old hard to find pumps.
