Well, I had a Wayne 60 and it was missing a door/panel. Vicki and Dan at Petro Nuts (glass cylinders) were nice enough to provide me with a door when I picked up a cylinder yesterday. The door panel was in primer yellow when I got it.

After some creative painting, I think it turned out pretty good. The rustoration door is the one leaning against the pump. I probably should’ve used less black on the center area, but oh well.

As an afterthought I wish I would’ve used one of my Mobil pump plates to provide a silhouette like the original.

Nice work! It can take a lot of time and a lot of layers of paint. Here is one that I just got done with, I matched the front panel to the rest of the pump.

That looks great Konnor. You are right on using several layers.

My 60 door panel started out as a flat primer puke yellow color. Then I lightly sprayed it with gray primer, then a light coat of black, then several layers of thinned red.

To age it I rubbed topsoil and dirt on the red when it was almost completely dry. Then I lightly sprayed some black in spots and rubbed the dirt on it while it was wet. Then finally I wiped some sludge on spots from the bottom of my oil drain pan (from doing oil changes), then a little more dirt. 😀
