So I recently picked up my first pump, a Tokheim 39 tall pump. Basically I’ll be replacing a few parts and clearing it to preserve it’s patina.

It’s an old Pennzip pump, which was the name Penzoil operates it has stations under for a time. I’m currently trying to choose a globe for it. I’m not willing to spend the money for one of the few original Pennzip globes available, and there aren’t reproduction globes available.

Looking to be different I was thinking of getting an oval Penzoil globe for it, but was wondering when oval globes were used and how popular they were. Tried An online search but couldn’t find an answer.

You could have new lenses made of that PennZip lens by Lance over at PogoGas. Get 10 sets made, sell eight to people on oldgas or facebook and keep a couple for yourself. It's pretty cool, bet people will buy them.

Thanks man. I’ll definitely look into that, as it would be different from what you normally see.

Searched but couldn’t find pogo gas, are you referring to pogos garage?

There is nothing wrong with our Canadian friend Pogo. I believe he's the one who taught T-way the globe business.

Another one to check out would be Mike Slama.

No Bob,

Lance is the one that sold me his business.

When I bought it, I already had over 25 years in the graphic arts business and was already capable of screening lenses.

And I produce more custom lenses for the gas pump hobby than anybody.

You can see a few of them here: http://www.t-waysgraphics.com/customglobes.html

And I have previously reproduced the Pennzip Ethyl lens referenced above.

Later . . .

Jim

Sorry Reiner, I always call it PogoGas when it's Pogo Garage. Once I get the name wrong, it's locked in my brain that way!
