• For this particular online auction, the sale opened on June 8th at 6:00pm EST
• Once the sale has opened, you have a two weeks (until next Wednesday, June 22nd at 6:00 pm) to view the catalog online and to register to bid through this link:
https://shackletons.hibid.com/auctions/• From there we HIGHLY ENCOURAGE you to COME IN and preview the items/ lots in person so that you know the exact condition of each item. In-person preview is available at 3715 Emrbo Road, Stratford, ON, N5A 6S3 Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 5:00pm. If you are bidding from a distance, you can “Contact the Auctioneer” on each lot on the sale and email us with any questions that you might have, we are happy to take a second look at the item and provide more information (if applicable) and additional photos.
• Next Wednesday, June 22nd starting at 6:00 pm, the online auction will begin to close, meaning that each lot has a staggered closing time. For example: lot #1 will close at 6:00 pm, lot #2 will close 10 seconds later, lot #3 will close 10 seconds after that and so on.
• A "soft close" will be in effect meaning that as the time runs down on an item soon to close, if a bidder submits a big into the last 3 minutes of the sale, it extends the bid time an ADDITIONAL 3 MINUTES only on that item .... This is when the auction becomes really fun! As long as someone continues to bid on that item, the time period will continue to be extended. The time period eventually runs out when bidding ceases. The purpose of a soft close is to allow everyone a fair chance to submit a bit.
• If you are the successful bidder a PAID invoice will be emailed to you upon the closing of the sale with a list of the lots that you won and instructions for pick-up or shipping. All credit cards are automatically processed after the sale has closed. If your invoice is over $1,000 we will reach out to you directly regarding payment options.
• Pick up days are Thursday, June 23rd and Friday, June 24th from 9:00am – 5:00pm. Shipping of items will occur within 7 business days of the sale closing. All items not picked up by 6:00 pm on Friday, June 23rd will be deemed abandoned and will become the property of Shackleton's Real Estate and Auction Co. NO EXCEPTION TO ANYONE
