Hello all you out there with a lust for rust
I'm pretty excited to get on here. As a non member prior till now I read many of the threads and enjoyed reading in on the conversations in the past. It'll be nice to be able to find answers and see new (old) items n such I haven't come across before... & vive versa, I have contributing qualities to add as well...I think it's interesting when you come across a new piece to your collection, whatever it may be that u collect, and you get to play detective and try to find any info. you can on it... history, owner.. origin. I'm a collector of Filpruf glass bottles & other bottles as well.. bottle racksl.. I like the old signage too... I mainly focus on Mobiloil Gargoyle items from the 20's & 30's... crates, Filpruf bottles.. A while back I purchases a complete & working original 20's Mobiloil Lubester (minus the AF paddle...) it still had the original "HEAVY" sae 40 sticker on it as well as the badging & beautiful cast-iron lid with Gargoyle and lettering stamped into it.... I nearly had a small heart attack when I realized what I had... It was covered by a sticker from the 30's.... like an archaeologist, I carefully scraped as little as I could off the Pegasus sticker.. It sounds silly, but, it's cool to preserve and see something that hasn't probably been seen by anyone in 90+ years... I hope I'm still seen in 90+ years
