Purple Martin was the premium grade of gasoline. There were two Martin companies. Martin Oil Company and Martin Oil Service. One was located in Blue Island,IL. and I think the other in Carbondale,IL.

The Purple Martin Ethyl globe is on my wish list if anyone has one for sale.
